First shot done!

Just a quick little note tonight. Did my first Lupron shot a couple of hours ago. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! I barely even felt it. Only 4 more days of birth control pills too, and thank goodness because I’m breaking out like a teenager! I haven’t had this much acne in a very long time. Milestones are coming quickly now… 4 more days of BCP, then my first lining u/s and blood work 5 days after that. Start estrogen the day after the ultrasound, and then every 4 days or so there is another med change. It’s finally happening! I can’t wait to get a positive pregnancy test and then deliver a beautiful baby into my IPs arms 💗💗💗
For kicks, here’s tonight’s shot!

Onward Ho

Exciting stuff ahead! Our contract is finally complete – I just received my fully signed copy today. I’ve gotten a protocol and schedule, and picked up all my meds. I started birth control pills a couple of weeks ago, coincidentally on my birthday. I’m on them for 3 weeks, and then the fun begins! This Saturday I start my Lupron. This means that every night for the next month or so I get to stab myself in the stomach with a needle. Is it odd that I’m actually excited about this? I feel like once I start the Lupron it will all happen so fast! We’ve been working towards this for so long it’s hard to believe it’s actually happening. Back to meds though… About a week and a half after I start Lupron I start estrogen. I will take this – in increasing amounts right up until the transfer. About a week before the transfer I will stop Lupron and start on progesterone, as well as a 5 day course of antibiotics (doxycycline). I believe that’s to stop any bacteria from entering my uterus along with the embryo(s). I also have a couple of ultrasounds and some blood work leading up to transfer. I go in May 4 and May 19 for those. I get to do those at the clinic in my town, which is nice, as it minimizes travel. And then… Transfer day! We will be doing a fresh transfer. This means that we don’t already have any embryos. IM will be starting meds a couple weeks after me to harvest her eggs. A few days before the transfer her eggs will be harvested and fertilized. Because there are so many factors involved, rather than a set date, we have a transfer “window”. If all goes well we will be transferring hopefully one, but possibly two little embies into my cozy womb sometime between May 31 and June 2. Everyone keep you fingers crossed for some good strong embies for us!

Just for fun, here is a pic of all the meds I will be on soon!

Have a great week everyone!
